Filipino Cooking Class

On November 17th, we held a Filipino cooking class in Matsuda Town!

The menu featured two dishes: Adobo, a braised pork dish, and Halo-Halo, a Filipino-style shaved ice dessert.
We were able to make both dishes deliciously.
 Halo-Halo was especially exciting because it was topped with various tropical fruits unique to the Philippines, making the toppings a thrilling part of the experience!

 

11月17日、松田町でフィリピン料理教室を開催しました！

メニューは、煮込み豚肉料理の「アドボ」と、フィリピン風かき氷デザートの「ハロハロ」の2品でした。
どちらも美味しく作ることができました。
特にハロハロは、フィリピンならではのトロピカルフルーツがトッピングされていて、盛り付けの工程もワクワクする楽しい体験となりました！

Each group was joined by a Filipino ALT (Assistant Language Teacher), allowing us to enjoy cooking while having fun conversations!
１班に１人ずつ、フィリピンのALTの先生がついてくださり、楽しくお話をしながら料理をすることができました！

After the meal, one of the ALTs gave a presentation about the Philippines, sharing many interesting facts. Did you know that Christmas in the Philippines starts in September? In the Philippines, Christmas celebrations last from September all the way until the Feast of the magi in January. It sounds like so much fun!
There was also a quiz time, where everyone had fun learning about Filipino culture together!

ごはんの後は１人のALTの先生が、フィリピンについてプレゼン形式で、色々な興味深い話をしてくださいました。みなさん、フィリピンのクリスマスは９月からというのを知っていましたか？フィリピンでは９月から１月の３賢者のお祝いの日まで、クリスマスを盛大にお祝いするそうです。とても楽しそうですね！
